I have kids, they sometimes use the booster seats. Will this mod make is unsafe for the kiddies if there is a crash???
I too sat in the rear seat and it SUCKS.

Crashing is unsafe, I don't recommend it. I suspect it'd be less safe to be reclined in a crash, don't know for sure. I don't like having the baby seat on a reclined seat, it could flop around in a crash.

I was worried about the seat holding up in a crash.
What does the 'stop' do? Just keep the seat from reclining or is it part of a safety part?
Does the seat in the up right position still hold tight?

A little slow in participating :D

You can still purchase these hinges from Shuei, at least, for a mere 19,000 yen(US$180), plus 5% tax and shipping. ;)
However, I've seen them cheaper on Yahoo every once in a while(usually used).

They do allow the seats to recline 5 ways. I believe those hinges were standard on the wagon model in Japan(could be wrong).

Also available for the 76 and the 77.

Cool mod.

I wounder if the hinges from a Previa would work? The third row seat would recline on the Prevvia.
