Anyone here replace their rear main seal on an FJ60 before? How hard/easy is it? Mine has leaked slightly since I bought the truck almost 2yrs ago and seems like it is starting to get a bit worse. Wondering if this is something that I can do in the driveway or would I be better off trying to find a friend with a tranny jack to get it done?

I have never had to do it but have changed out my clutch and had to pull all that stuff off. It is a PITA but doable. I have a tranny jack if you would like to borrow it. I think it would make it easier. The hardest part of that job was getting everything back on and to line up and the dam fork clutch in the right place. Some of these other guys may have done that exact job and have better comments for you. Good luck.

Thanks for the offer D, much appreciated. And I still have your hub socket, just haven't been able to get to the other side and break that one last hub dial bolt out.

Have a feeling this will be something left until next spring/summer. Rust never sleeps and I really should get to the wheel wells before the snow comes. If the last few days have been any indicator of the winter to come, then we are in for a good one!!!!
