Hey everyone,

I've seen a lot of rear bumpers with the tires mounted on the right side. Is there a particular reason for this? It would seem that placing the giant tire there would interfere with the driver's view out the window and also add to a passenger side lean since the full tank is also over on that side.

Thanks!

For me personally, I’m adding my tire carrier to the right side because I’ll have water cans and a propane tank to the left that will be significantly more weight than the tire side when full. And much less weight difference when empty.

Also with that setup, I’ll be completely blocking the left side rear view where the tire on the right still will give me a bit of view over it.

That’s me, no right or wrong answer, just what works for the individual.

And to add a bit more, a single carrier wouldn’t work for me as I tow a lot. And a long single carrier will not open enough with the trailers I use. How annoying would that be? But again, that’s only a factor for me, and these particular trailers I’m using.

So my recommendation is to look at what you want, and what you are willing to carry, and go with that.
