A friend of ours has a 73 55 in shell form. Can't just connect a battery to the main harness- questionable wiring. Tailgate widow is up. What is the easiest way to get the window down? Memory says gearbox can be cranked by hand if motor is removed. I can't remember- it's been a few years and it was a bad memory.

If the window is up carry a 12v to the back and remove the access panel with some jumper wires (more lenght better) you can with a lot of slack in your jumper wires lower it all the way or alternatively lower it enough to remove the tabs on the glass run that allow you to disconect it for removal.

I would just lower it with slack to the point of opening it. You have 1 ground and two directional wires (up/down) coming out of your motor to the wire block.

Obviously you are juicing your contact from the battery with your jummpers fixed at the block (test direction first).

which would suggest that you connect all three wires of course. Once you drop it and open the gate you can raise the tailgate window in tailgate a opened position to access the tabs while the tg is open.
