I wondered the same thing woody. Don't remember which way I went with it. Hell, I probably put one on each way for all I know. Too bad the shaman is on vacation. Sorry I can't be more help. It's been a couple of years since I did mine.

based on the POS old one, the right one faces the exhaust, the left faces the O2 itself....

damn nuts were rounded too, good thing I ordered those....the shaman musta known....

and, of course, the back O2 isn't coming loose without destroying the little guard on there...shoulda got one of those...

I don't think it matters on the gaskets. I never did get all the remnants of the old gaskets off, doesn't seem to have mattered so far. I managed to get all the nuts off with a Crapsman bolt & nut remover. Luckily they were 1/2 off at Sears that day. I certainly would've damaged that guard without the extractors. A box of stainless nuts & washers from McMaster was great for reassembly.
