Best states to find one in are Texas or California, that's been my experience so far. Most of the ones listed in Georgia have been abused.

Also AZ/NM. Mine spent many years in AZ and I can tell you firsthand, a desert climate is worth it. No rust, fasteners are easy to remove, just lots of big pluses.

Agree 100% , hence I don't really care for a factory locked one. I had an e-locker on my 3rd gen 4runner and it got the job done, but the engagement is nowhere near as fast and strong as the ARB air locker.

Honestly, most reputable auto lockers now a days will probably be more reliable and easier to maintain than those factory lockers from 25+ yrs ago.
I have ARB f/r aftermarket air lockers and i have to say, once you get the air line/hose sorted, it is very reliable. I love the fact you can get instant engagement on the air lockers. I went with SS braided lines in lieu of the plastic tubes that came with the kit.

I got my 97 LX with 244k for $6200, came from Idaho a few years ago, some rust mainly on the rear end area, looks like it pulled a boat, but otherwise in great shape, feel pretty good about it after seeing prices. I did put a lot of maintenance into it, radiator, alt., hoses, usual oil leaks, just did tires getting new shocks and eventually small lift. Just hope my head gasket doesn't blow, probably end up doing it in a year or so for the hell of it. Figure i'll be in it around $10K and can easily get my money back if I decide to sell.

Just saw a nice clean original owner 91 with 160Kmi pop up for $7K, was gone in a couple days, thats' about the going price around here.
