Putting on my OME lift. Everything going smoothly until I need to remove the old steering damper. I tried all the usual bag of tricks: Pickle Fork, Heat.

I managed to get the top right side off, by removing the bracket, putting it in a vice and using a lot of heat before I hit with the 3lb hammer.

However, I have not been able to get the top/left side off. My bearing pullers do not fit quite right. Any my pickle fork (and blow torch) have destroyed the seals around the joint.:mad:

Anyone near San Diego have a pit arm puller that works? Or does anyone know of a Napa (etc) part number for one.

I'm about ready to run the Cruiser over to a shop. :crybaby:

I don't know the Napa part # but there is a Napa off L street in National City and right next door is a Harbor Freight that you can check to see if they have one at a reduced price.

When I did mine I used a pickle fork and a BFH which I used to hit it about 20 times before it finally poped off. It wasn't a gradual thing it literally poped off with no warning on the 20th or 25th good whack.:shotts:

All I used was the fork and a lot of whacking as well. I was about to go crazy but that did it for me. good luck
