Nice quick hunting rosco you ninja

Is this car ( or 76 78 ... or another engine ) available with automatic transmission ???
In Europe is this car for sale only unofficial with tuned 1HZ engine. But I think this engine doesn´t fulfil EURO 5 emission. It is end of HZj7x in EC :frown: .
I want it for sale in official dealer network with VDJ engine from LC200.. This car is better than Defender.

I havent seen an auto version yet ,except in the older models.
Its certainly much better than a defender but is also much dearer.

Nice to you you gat a glovebox jesus bar
Aus dosnt get one in the toyota.au anyways
do you have twin air bag?

Yeh how lucky are the saudis to get a top glovebox and jesus bar. Every ozzy would want that setup stuff the airbags. I wonder if we can even order this option?

You would feel really good about that jesus bar if your passenger dies and you survive in a head on because of no airbag wouldnt you.

IMO twin airbags should have been a minimum safety requirement for at least the last 10years

Gibo get real mate lets be honest solid chassis rails and the biggest fullsize cab chassis on the road dont need airbags. i dont know how many blokes that have flipped cruisers and ran off the road and walked away. airbags are just more crap too break in the bush. Thats my opinion, i feel very safe in my ute and if i had a head on i reackon i would walk away in most cases

SO is this like the U.S 80 series VS AUS 80 series U.S got passenger air bag so they had to delete the glove box jesus bar cos itd be in the way of airbag , were as AUS 80's have no passenger side airbag and can have a jesus bar....

I take it if your country makes you have airbags in your new 7x series you get the air bag, if not you get a jesus bar and top glove box which would be were a air bag would sit?

In those last pics the one of the back of the tub neat looking plastic tray liner in it buuut if its anything like my old maloo plastic tray liner sh1t slides everywere

NO jesus bar for aus spec, dad got his on Wednesday with airbags

What 7x series did he get mate ...all the details;)

Seems like here in South Africa we will also not get the jesus bar option. It's said that the new specs will become available end Sept. I can't help but to wonder how the new V6 option will do on our shores. I'm in the market for a new Cruiser and I might just decide on the V6. Never again I'll buy a 1HZ pick up..

Hello,

Agreed. A passenger airbag is another device likely to malfunction in the bush. It is also one of those devices intended to compensate for the driver's stupidity.

As a survivor of a car crash riding shotgun when the airbag activated, I can tell it adds little to the passenger's safety. It was the seat belt that prevented me from flying away; the airbag added a few nasty bruises and trauma, as it pressed me against the seat. It crushed my left arm as well, and I was lucky it was badly beaten but not broken. It hurt like hell, however.

The bag did protect the driver, preventing him from crashing the dash and sustaining injuries. It was a frontal collision and he got away unscathed while I ended up in the ER.

There is no safety system against a careless driver. Yes, an airbag will prevent the driver from injuries or death, provided it is used as a complement to seat belts and properly placed headrests. About the passenger I am not so sure.

Anyway, I would still buy one of those new Cruisers.

Sorry for the rant.

Its been done for way less than that. All depends on who and what you know I guess.

I'm talking about a full-on legal importation and configuring the vehicle for DOT requirements/emissions.

But, sure, yes, it can be done for way less. $65K might be a good middle of the road gray market import of a newer vehicle.
