Quick background prior to my question... 1991 FJ80. I have rebuilt the front axle and added 5.29's and an ARB along with RCV's and the flanges from a 95 - 97 80 series. Rear is a full float that I rebuilt with 5.29's, ARB and RCV shafts and swapped it in place of the semi float axle that came with the Cruiser. In regards to the front, there are two grooves in the shafts and I am assuming based of my research that the outermost groove is for the flanges and the innermost groove is for the locking hubs. I obviously have the C clip in the outermost groove...that being said, I assume it is normal for there to be a little side to side movement of the shaft ? My apologies if this seems like a silly question but I didn't find a definitive answer to my question when consulting the almighty Google and while I have experience with 4x4 axles, I am relatively new to the Toyota world and don't want to make a silly mistake that bites me in the ass later...already spent enough money on this Cruiser.

Yes, normal.

The hub shouldn't have play, but the shaft can move a little bit. Just like with CV axles.
