Hey all,
I have been getting a lot of buzzing/rattling from my 4WD transfer case shifter when under load.
The problem was intermittent before, and I ended up installing the Wits End transfer case refresh kit (80 Series 1FZ Transfer and Transmission Shifter Rebuild Kit - https://absolute-wits-end.com/80-series-1fz-transfer-and-transmission-shifter-rebuild-kit/) to help remedy the problem. I also replaced the plastic bushing and the washer to tighten up the connection where the shifter connects to the rod that goes into the transfer case.
Video with the audio of the issue:
Picture of the pieces I replaced (collar bushings from Wits End and the plastic insert and washer where the shifter connects to the linkage rod):
Was hoping that would be the end of it, but now the buzzing is there almost all of the time (see video). The buzzing stops when I put even the slightest amount of pressure (forward, back, from the top) on the shifter.
Any idea how to resolve this permanently, and what could be causing it?
Thanks in advance.
