I recently found my old HW car case and was checking out all the cars I used to have. I found one redline semi truck came from a set my folks got me when I was a kid. The set is long gone, but I still had the truck!

I had a difficult time trying to find anything out about this truck since I couldn't remember the name of the set and the truck only says 'Mattel' and the date.

Finally found it on a HW collectors site. "Road King Mountain Mining Set".

The resources I found said it could be worth some $$$$. So I checked eBay and found this:

Let's see what it goes for! Hopefully it'll meet the reserve.

I thought I was the only one who still had his hot wheels from when he was a kid. That is cool you have such a rare one. I haven't checked any of mine in years. I should make sure there aren't any expensive ones before I give them to my 2 year old.

Years ago I was fixing my dads 1974 van that he bought new and trucked my brothers and I around in and found a Hot Wheel inside the slider door panel that was supposedly worth $35. Not nearly as cool as a $103.61 though. Cool find. :cheers:
 
I used to have a bunch. My case only had a handful in it. No idea where they all went.

I've got 2 cases of hot wheels still. I never even thought about sellin them.

I hope you are saying that is actually yours selling for that! ;)

I actually have a fairly big box in the garage and I have been giving my son a few here and there since I have been saving them since I was a kid for just that reason but I might have to rethink that if they are going for that! Last count was about 200 or so, I better get busy. :D
 
Try finding a rear-load Beach Bomb redline. Jay leno bought the last one I saw on ebay for $15k The rarest HW that I know of. I have 5 side loaders but no rearloaders. I have about 3 thousand HW's in my collection. It's a sickness once you start.

I'm familiar with the Beach Bomb, but not sure I've ever seen a rear load. Gotta Google that one.

It's crazy, since finding the "Road King" and researching, I'm finding myself looking for some of my 'missing' cars on eBay and checking Hot Wheels forums. I think I'm being sucked in.

I only need 2,994 more to catch up to you . . .
