This just a random thought/ question I had this morning... Does anyone know the internal differences between the a340h and the a343? Why you might ask? Well I was just curious if a wholesale automatic transmissions a343 valvebody would work in an a340h transmission which could then have an inchworm adapter added and then backed by a Gear drive case. Then a fellow could beef up the auto and have the gear drive case.
From what I have read the only major difference is the torque converter and input shaft, but I haven't found much that mentions the internals or valve bodies. It looks like the 340, 341 & 343 are all the same housing with variances to the bell housings and tail shafts but the middles are mostly(?) the same.....
Oh and this would be for my 4runner. I know there has been alot of similar discussion in the 80 section, but for different reasons.
