RAM Mount for LX470

Has anyone had success with a non-universal RAM mount? The universal single bolt one with the hand-bendable tube seems flimsy.

Or similar. I'm looking to mount some stuff, and this might be a good way. Any advice is appreciated. I've found some threads of people screwing the little ball mounts on various places around the vehicle, that's a possibility too.

I used the universal poll mount for my iPad. It worked shockingly well, but did eventually swap the iPhone to the universal poll and the iPad to the windshield mount to make more room for the passenger.

I ordered that not-so-universal mount.. so I'll see how it goes and report back. It screw to both parts of the seat, so it should be really rock stable, even with a laptop. If it doesn't fit I send it back for a full refund and nothing is lost. If it does, well..yay! I'm going to rig up something to mount my tablet, and IC-7100 ham radio(hopefully)
