What’s a rain guard?

I'm guessing something like what WeatherTech offers? I have them in my 2011 and they work great. It may require a little finessing to install due to the safety/pressure sensors in the window, but otherwise no complaints.

These?
Love em. Installed on my ‘18LX. Super easy to install, no mods etc. Low profile. Allows for about 2 inches of window opening.

Only downside I can think of is for smokers. They are too close to the vehicle to allow you to flick your ash out. I haven’t smoked in about 10 years so it’s a non issue for me.

Do you guys have any issues with sand/dirt when the windows go up and down? Had them in my 4Runner and was great till I went off roading and every time i touched the windows they scratch going up and down.

If you’re getting sand in the seal, it’s probably time to replace them as I recently did. Super quick to rip them out and pop new ones in. Referring to the felt-like-inner-side seals that hug the glass where it disappears into the door.

Was super glad I did mine before heading to crazy-windy-sand Baja last April. With good seals, nothing got into mine. If it had, it would be obvious because of my softer-than-glass tinting on the inside.

Is it true these things crush mpg? Given everything else going on with the drag profile of an LC200 it seems odd but saw this posted somewhere else.

Thanks!

Can you share a link to said seals?

On the driver's window, I hear an intermittent little "creak" every time I drive my LX. I tried lowering the window so there is a minimal gap (ie. lowering the glass so it doesn't disappear into the door) and the "creak" goes away. Do you think this is a seal issue?

Man, it’s pretty tough to know, but I personally doubt the seals would freak. They are external seals, and a slightly fuzzy material against the window glass.

I’ll try to find my old order if you want to order them anyway. If you have broken or shredding seals externally, I’d replace them. If they are intact....probably not gonna solve a squeak. :meh: That’s a guess though...
