So I have a quick question. Does anyone know what years are compatible as far as the Radiator/ Core supports. I have a 1990 pickup and I have found a good price on a used core support, complete from a 1995 4 runner.

Will they swap, and if not, does anyone know when the changes happened.

My core support has been massaged and I have some new parts that I want to throw at it but the holes, etc don't line up. I bought a cheapo from rock auto, but it was stamped and came in about as tweaked as the one I have now, so then I priced all the pieces to build a new one from OEM parts, $600 and it has to be assembled and I have no jig, so I figure a good used one is teh way to go.

Thanks,

Matthew

The core supports on Toyota trucks are welded in place and not easily removed. There are about 50 spot welds to drill out to get it off.

That being said, a core support for a 1995 runner is different that one from a 1990 pickup because it has a completely different headlight setup. If you want to use the grille and headlights from the donor it will work. In addition, if you pickup is a 4cyl it will have a power steering line cooler that passes through the core support and the 1995 4Runner will more than likely be a v6 and the hole pattern is different.

BFH and a welder man! You can make it fit!

Really though, I couldn't help you much. The catalog is going to list a bunch on different ones when in reality they may be interchangable. You can just do like I did on my swap in the mini... if there's not a hole for an AC line, make a new one. :hillbilly:

Toyminator, glad you chimed in. When he said 95 4runner, the different bumper, grill and headlight setup was what I thought about.

If I can find one from a pickup I can probably make it work since the headlights should be the same.

Sam, I was kinda hoping you might find something, but with all the pieces it takes to make one, I am not surprised at what you found.

I will just pass on this one and keep looking.

Thanks
