96 FJ80, radiator is leaking around the top seal. Is it best to OEM or aftermarket? Suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Dennis

Careful, you start thinking about anything but OEM you start treading into a $1k and 20+ Hours.

I ended up having my existing radiator rebuilt locally, but I had found this fellow (below), Tom, helpful and responsive. I copied our correspondence to pass on.

Radiator: Koyo C1917, brass

Thanks for your inquiry about the Landcruiser radiator. I sell the Koyo

brand radiator for $315.00. That would be the total price as I pay for the

shipping. Currently I am out of stock, but I should have an order soon

from Koyo.

Thanks...

Tom

Did't some one write about a Ron Davis aluminum radiator install? I guess if it's not oem it should be a Ron Davis radiator, Any good feed backs about your aluminum Radiator, NLXTACY?

^ I leave for a 5000 mile trip tomorrow and I will report back. Not enough time, altitude, drive time or temperature changes to give any kind of assessment.

When you say "top seal", where are you referring to? The top tank or the actual seal on the rad cap? Got any pictures?

Friend of mine just had his $900 aluminum Ron Davis radiator punctured by a rock kicked up from the street. He replaced with OEM.

Ouch.
