Radiator hoses on 4.7L V8

Hi all,
Trying to figure out the cooling system on the 4.7L V8 engine in my LC200.
The temp gauge always stays at the right place, the system does get pressurized but the lower radiator hose always stays cold. I would think that it would get warm when the thermostat would open?
Just replace the thermostat since I thought it was faulty, but still the same.
Is this just normal or something I'm missing? What's the best way to bleed the system?

Read engine coolant temp via some type of OBDII scanner that has "Live Data" ability.

The lower hose is usually the cooled flow back to the engine. Top hose is the hot flow from the engine.
