Quick Radio Question

What is the plug that looks like a smaller version of the antenna plug that plugs into the back of the single CD radio for? It plugs into the radio next to the antenna jack.

Many cars have a smaller plug, GM products if I'm not mistaken use the smaller plug and you need an adaptor for an aftermarket deck to plug into the cars antenna.. My guess would be that the toyota deck is used in a different car that uses the other deck, maybe a Scion or something as the deck is going to be made by a company other then Toyota and I'm sure they re-badge the same deck for use in other cars so they need it to be as adaptable as possible...

I found it strange that there was the regular antenna plug AND the small plug plugged into the radio. You would think that if only one was needed, depending on the size, that the other wouldn't be there and plugged in.

Isn't there also an antenna embedded in tape on the passenger side rear window? There is on my 98LC, I haven't had the single CD radio out but it seems to make sense two antenna two plugs.

Where is the antenna for the key-less entry?

My guess would be an AM antenna. I replaced my stereo and just left it disconnected.

I wonder why my new radio didn't have an AM antenna port? It has an AM band.

I don't think I have ever seen a radio with two antenna ports.

The larger antenna connector is for the main or power antenna, and the smaller lead is to the FM antenna in the right rear window. Your AM band will use the regular or large lead, but will receive a signal even when the antenna is down.
