I was working on replacing my original front discs as they have become pretty worn and groved. I also have a wheel that developed a bit of a wobble so bearings are in line too.

I was putting it all back together and trying to put the studs back into the wheel hub and I can't seem to get them seated like they came apart. I'm using brand new Toyota/Lexus discs and the original studs. I can't get the studs to seat the disc tight against the hub section. It lays flush on the hub face. I've beaten a mushroom on my brass drift trying to get them in, but there is just about .5 mm of play between the stud head and the disc. Just enough to have a slight rattle when you move it. Is this normal? Did I deform all the studs when I banged them out? Could the disc thickness have changed. Should I replace the studs?

I put the one wheel back together and everything seems fine. I'll redo it, I just don't want to do the other wheel until I know what is going on. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sorry gents. Moment of frustration. Turns out a hydraulic press was all I needed...not a bigger hammer. Good times and a learning moment.
