Hey guys, I just joined the TLCA about a week ago, and will be joining TAC in about a month. I have an 1988 Fj62 which I will be trying to upgrade in the time to come. Now, on to what this is really about, I was looking over my engine, and to the left of the steering column I saw this green thing almost in the shape of a spark plug, or long fuse. It was clearly melted on one side, and not connected to anything. I was hoping that you fellas could help me out and tell me what that is and what it does.

Thanks guys,
Many more questions to come :D

Hi Carl

Welcome to Mud, TLCA and TAC! Sounds like a wire connecter of some time, but I'm not up on 60/62's. Anyway you can post a picture or email one to me and I can post it. email is 66fj40 at cox dot net.

As far joining TAC goes, wait til our one and only meeting in January.... usually in the KC area. We'll be posting the date and location closer to meeting time.

Where are you located?

Carl, welcome to MUD. I just happeneed to aquire an 88 FJ62 this past week with everything in tact and all original, and super clean. All I see close to the steering column is the connector to the manifold which in turn connects to a connector that goes to the 'carb' fan on the fender. There is a single blue wire that comes out of a harness from the fan right on the fender and it connects to that connector attached to the manifold.

Hope this helps. I would take a picture of it, but no camera at this time.

Thanks for your help guys. :)

Here's the other pics.

Yes that is exactly it. The 'carb' fan wire. There should be a single blue wire coming from the black fan on the drivers side fender. I bet someone has a spare connector, or you could just splice it together without the connector.
