hello-seems like some power is getting to the switch-it kind of moves a little bit, but not enough power to actually make it lock or unlock. Dealer of course says i need a new part (500 for them), which is crazy and that does not even include labor. Found the part online new for 323 and used for far less, but not sure i want used. Curious your thoughts and thanks a lot.

Yeah, the motor inside the actuator is dying. Look up how to change the motor in the door lock actuator. There are a number of threads, some of them are interwoven. A few of us have done this, the motors are cheap, but it took me a weekend to change out all 4 door's motors. The first day was the learning curve, then they go much faster.

Are there any OEM alternatives for the front door lock actuators from Toyota?

I bought a back door actuator off eBay for $25. Haven’t replaced yet but cheaper alternatives are out there. Plug your part number into eBay. Alternatives come up

Does anyone know what the material difference is, if any, between the original front door lock actuator and the supercession?
