What's the engine in a 1991 PZJ77v? How reliable is it?

1pz 3.5liter 5 cylinder , like a 1hz 4.2 liter minus one cylinder, they are reliable, around 115hp, they are non turdoed

Nothing wrong with them,but not many around and the parts that are specific to a 5 cyl are not easy to find.
The also have a 2 piece flywheel and use a Hilux type transmission.

I've got one of those. My wife loves it as the family mobile. Lots of common parts with the standard 74 series available in Canada. aside form oil changes, i have a year on mine with no issues. tranny is the H55 in mine. Hp 8" front, 9.5" rear stock.

lot's of PZ's made it to the canadian mines. so parts from ENS etc might be alright to find.

The 1PZ is a 5 cylinder 1HZ. Same as a 1HZ minus the 1 cylinder.

Nothing wrong with it at all.

Don't expect a lot out of it on the highway/freeways.

Kind of like the 4.3 ltr GM V6 compared to the 5.7 ltr GM V8. All in all good and reliable.
