Tis the season when batteries usually start complaining, and the weak ones succumb to the cold. As batteries rely on a chemical process to produce energy, cold will slow down the reaction. My car needed attention for both 1 and 2 below this past month.

Public Service Announcement to check and maintain the various batteries in your vehicle to ensure tip top performance.

1) Key Fob battery

Don't let this one catch you out. A dead keyfob (in the middle of winter) can be a real hassle. I noticed the center dash readout alerting me that the battery was low upon stopping the vehicle (didn't catch a pic). For the Lexus keyfob, this is a CR1632 battery. Not sure if the Toyota/LC keyfob uses the same. All one needs to change is to remove the key blade, and in that exposed corner, with a flat screwdriver, pry open the plastic case.

2) Tire Pressure Monitory Battery (TPMS)

From my experience, these typically last 6-8 years. If you have a TPMS cel, time to visit the tire shop - Tire Pressure System CEL

3) Starter battery

This one likes to fail too. There's probably plenty of thread here on how, or even how to upgrade this batt.

Any other batteries I'm missing?
