Hey guys. It's me again. Just a quick question. Can anybody tell me which ignition coil I should pick up for my 1982 FJ60? My former mechanic took mine out and I'm not sure which one would be best for me. Thanks in advance.

When asking for part numbers you should make it clear you have a non-USA model. I believe you may have points in your distributor and your coil may require a balast resistor. These parts are diffierent from what the US-market FJ60 would have.
However, from your other thread, it seems like your mechanic may have modified your distributor work without the points (I think that electronic ignition = no points). So I can't say what you need.
In cases like this, it's probably best to give the whole story...what was changed and what components you have now. Another option would be to switch back to what your truck had when it was delivered from Toyota. For that a VIN would help identify exactly what you have/had.

Thank you, sir. My distributor works with points and condenser but he disconnected my condenser and installed that electronic ignition garbage. Are you implying that if my van works on points and condenser, I would need to get a coil with a balast resistor? Cause if so, then you have answered my question beautifully.

I probably should add that I am aiming to undo the changes that this mechanic has made. So I just need to know which coil I should consider so that I can install it, reconnect my condenser and remove this electronic ignition.
Coil with points distributor needs a ballast resistor, either external or internal to the coil.
It looks like yours probably came with an external resistor if it is a SA spec truck 1982 with a 2F that came with the external octane selector style distributor.
An aftermarket Hitachi or Denso coil with external resistor is probably what you need, but will certainly depend on what's available to you.
