I have a HJ60 with a turbo 2H. i am interested in installing propane injection and don't want to spend $600. does anyone know a cheap way of installing propane.

Any help or guidence would be much appreciated.

Sambo- cheap is not a way I'd go with any kind of injection, nitrous or propane. You want some of the safety features included with the kits.

Just my $.02.

Well, you could contact either ATS or Bullydog and try and talk them into giving you a list of necessary equipment.

I am running the powershot 2000 http://www.dieselperformanceproducts.com/home.html on my HJ61, well it's installed and I have used a bar-b-que tank to make sure everything works but I have been unable (well unwilling to pay) for a tank that is small enough to fit under the truck.

I looked into making my own, and well, I just figured it wasn't worth it for the features I wanted.

What I really like about the powershot is the ease of install an the varyable injection that is dependant on boost. That and the added shut off and two stage power switch is a great idea. A great kit in my books.

Remember, you should already be running boost and EGT gauges before you install any power upgrades to your truck.

and don't want to spend $600

He stated that he *didnt* want to spend 600.00. Although I cant see how you could get by with less.

Hey VT, Iv'e got a 1HZ in my HJ now. I'm hoping to pick her up from Radd Cruisers and the restore in a month or so.

Here is a pic of the engine in the frame. This is an early picture.

Ive been told by a couple guys in OZ to go with the Safari turbo kit. They tell me its way better design for the LOWER end torque that a IDI engine lacks. I was going to go with DTS, but now I'm going with Safari.

I will post some picks later but my ride is a turbo 2h, the turbo is from a nissan RB30 so it winds up nice and early, 5psi at 1500 rpm. 2 inch lift with 33" Cooper Muddies. Aux fuel tank, lockrite in the front and snorkel. the only thing i don't like is the fuel economy, but im not sure there is a lot i can do about that.

Sambo you can add a 2.5 to 3" exhaust. You can add a NON restricted intake system too. Those things will help your mileage to a degree.

What kind of aux tank do you have?

Sounds sweet Sambo.

TB- I have been in touch with radd regarding a set of motor mounts for my conversion. Haven;t heard from him for a while though, i gotta get in touch...

Anyway, if you get yours back before i get my 1HZ in (sounds like you will) let me know how you like it, and please keep me posted regarding the safari turbo, they seem to have it down pretty good especially with the intercooler kit they offer, ill have to think about it.

Hey VT, I sent you a PM with Safari info.

I think it'll be a good deal.

You know. TRD, or K&N type. Those flow WAY better than any stock filter. They also filter better too.

So is anyone here runninga bullydog propane kit on a non turbo? I just talked to them and they said it will work with the 3B diesel and give a 20-30HP increase which is comparable to using a turbo or 13BT motor for a lot less cash. Anyone done it?

You shoudl not run PI on a IDI deisel. Anything with pre-cups and you're going to be in trouble. They just can't handle the pressures....and I don't thinkt the benifits will be as big without a turbo.
