@7schulz Mate, that looks fantastic. So many builds are going for perfection now that it is refreshing to see this beat up and scratched body work staying the way it is. Great colour too!

I’m starting to put this original FST back together. I’ve got it all cleaned up and polished, but I need the soft top bows/frame and correct door hinges. I have FST doors but could be convinced to take all the components if anyone has some.

Need some help with my long jump seat mounting brackets and hardware. Can someone point me in the right direction so I can start putting her back together.

Thought the seat question was answered, maybe in another thread or for another cruiser. Your tub was made for jump seats with two bolts for each mounting point. Single are newer jump seats. The latch to hold the front seats upright are also newer. Guessing seats are from either a 70 or 71.

So this is a mid-year build (July 69) but a 70 MY. With new hardware the seats bolted in just fine. I believe they are original. The reinforcements in the tub lined up with the holes in the seat feet.

I have a 10/69 70 model FJ40 and it still has the older style latch with black plastic T shaped handle the pulls out. Show the change to metal lever that moves forward was 11/69 the month after mine was made. Jump seats changed 8/69. Mi
My 10/69 does not have the extra holes for the two bolt style jump seats. I can clearly see your is made for the two bolt style just looking at the top of the tub. My 3/79 FJ40 currently has a bench style seat on the passenger. All the need to do is add a nutsert on the front and drill a hole and add a nutsert in the back to bolt it in like factory. Would look more stock than yours. I won't even go into all the changes I made to my 9/67 68 model over the last forty-five years. Was clear the red hard top on it when you did come from the factory that way. The 9/67-11/69 black plastic T handle have been NLA for a long time. Someone found better seats and switched shouldn't surprise anyone. The passenger seat frame was so bend when I bought it I replaced it from one from a wrecking yard in Southern California. It just happened to be from a pre 11/69 and was a perfect match. All I remember at the time it was suppose to be from a 69. Remember wrecking yard was around a airport in the LA area. 1974 was a long time ago.
