If this information is readily available elsewhere I'll gladly have the moderators delete the thread.
What was the production run of the 77 Series (I assume, perhaps incorrectly that it's no longer in production) and was the 76 Series basically designed to replace the 77 Series?
Thanks

Perfect ..... Thanks Onur.
It's nice to know that I own a Cruiser that Toyota wasn't impressed enough with to continue production. :)

It would be interesting to see a map or graphic that shows the regions of the world where the 77 Series was sold new.

There are different variants Charles. Japan got the HZJ77's. Europe got LJ77's and RJ77's.

North America got nothing.

The rest of the world received different iterations or based on order (say, NGO's or MSF, or the UN).
"North America got nothing" ..... Perhaps I need to write a "strongly worded" letter to Toyota. :lol:

Actually, this is a good thread, i wouldn't mind knowing how long the hzj75 went on for, considering i have the inaugural year for the model. Maybe make a sticky ?

Thanks Beno, i need to do some research on what changed from 98-99, hopefully the troopies didnt see any major revs. tracking down specifically what changed has been hard. Many of the aftermarket parts read 99+ compatible...

"Actually, this is a good thread" ....... The term "good thread" and my 'MUD handle are seldom used in the same sentence. ....... Cool.

1999. The numbering system changed that year:

70/73/74-->71
75-->79
75 TROOPIE-->78
77-->76

Hello,

For some markets, there was a mid wheelbase 74 model between 1999 and 2006. It was available in both gas (FZJ74) and diesel (HZJ74) versions.

A little change to the list:
70 --> 71
73/74 --> 74
