Printle receiver

Looking to buy a printle receiver and need some input on the two types, with 2" ball or hook. Is there and advantage to one or the other or is it personal preference? I will be towing a M101A with the orignal eyelet on it. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I'm looking to add something similar and was told the "hybrid" pintle-ball receiver is the way to go. A friend said the standard military ones are easily found at Hitch House or similar retailers. It has a ball hitch with the pintle latch on top. The latch mechanism locks open or closed, so in the open position, you can use a standard ball trailer hitch. In the locked closed position you can pull a pintle loop hitch.
