Truck "had" been sitting for almost two months but I have been driving it the last week. On Sat noted my fuel pump spitting much from the weep hole so I put a new pump in and new soft lines. This AM a friend suggested I try disconnecting the fuel line from the pump into a bottle and start her to see if fuel is being pumped. Maybe I jogged off a chunk of grim into one of the lines and its blocked or sucking air.If the truck has been sitting for a bit then you will not have fuel in the bowl I believe that over time it evaporates off. If you have been priming the pump and trying to get fuel in to it and it is not working then you have a different issue.
If you get a chance, run the battery down to NAPA or one of the other places and have them take a look at it, while your at it you might as well take the ALT off and have them bench test it as well.
I just thought that if fuel isn't getting to carb then that would be another factor to it not turning over. Be gentle please... amateur newbie here.Ok, how did this turn into a "no fuel problem?" I thought you have a truck that's not turning over? Get it to turn over, then figuere out fuel problems if it doesn't just fire up.
Ignition/ignitor/coil testing. I was reading threads on checking it. One pix from the fsm shows trying it with a "dry battery"... that stumps me a tad. I'd be really appreciative of a real person picture and explanation. I was in my head this AM thinking about the systems and how each play in the start up of an engine so I appreciate the listing of each out. Napa guy said I could test the starter with my jumper cables and my other car but the way he explained it made me cringe some. Electrical stuff makes me a tad nervous. ..You need a volt meter and start from a good battery and work your way to the fusible link, ignition, solenoid, then your starter. I think igot that right, lol.
Too funny. So your saying everyone including yourself are lying and are talking out of your ...? I had a Haynes but I returned it because at some point it was changed from previous copies and the layout and such stank. But really I don't agree, I think the experience that you all have is fundamental. Its how I go about testing each system that throws me. I am very new to the use of a voltmeter and tho some things I understand, some just goes over my head. I have the emissions control fsm next to me flipped open now.You don't need us, you need a chilton manual. Everybody blabering on doesn't help much. Its all in the book. The book doesn't lie, we do.

I second that fabulous comment. ^^^arsehole ^^^^
Same as you on the switched power for ACC... similar to sticking my voltmeter prongs in the Alt plug to determine which is the 12... lol, Just a tad nerved up over doing it. As I was talking to Jim K today he explained how to get spark and I am totally enlightened now... If only my 3.5yo could pay attention long enough and turn the key...Don't worry F you are not the only one... I consider myself a fairly intelligent individual and that I can pick up on things pretty quickly. Electrical is something that really escapes me as it does not seem to follow logical process (at least not that has been explained to me). Ah the pits and downfalls of being a Virgo AND a PM/Analyst! I am looking at wiring in some butt warmers when I get my seats redone... however I am hesitant because I don't understand on where to wire in the switched power for the ACC so that the buggers don't run all the time!
You aren't alone!
