Hi,
I'm a bit of a newbie here. Great site and have gots lots of info over the years. I live in Oz. I have 95 80 series L/C with part time kit, 3 inch lift, front detroit, rear electric locker that I installed and fitted and a heap of aftermarket gear plus and interceptor computer on the 1FZ-FE. However it runs 285's and I have a set of 35 claws. I reckon with the 285's it still needs lower gears. With 285's and 4.3 diffs my Patrol was spot on, so I want to regear it as I tow a camper-trailer as well. As you know we do a lot of miles out here so I can't go to low. 4.5 I think could be ok as a comprimise? I have searched here on this subject and most of you blokes reckon that the precision gears are quite good. But out here a lot of guys think they are made from case hardened cheese and weak as. Go figure? Just trying to work out the why one country says they are good and the other bad. I want a set that's all.
Thanks in advance for your help.
