Prado hub problem

I have a 1991 Prado. I need the little electric motor that sits inside the front hub, and actuates the hub when activated. Any ideas where I can get one? Are there any other models compatible. I'm in the Kootenays here in B.C., got a foot of snow last night, and I'm not going anywhere without 4 WD. Thanks

Try doing a search in this forum for "electric hub" or something like that. It's been discussed on several occasions. Likely you'll just need to disassemble, clean out, and re-assemble the hub, making sure the brushes are in decent shape and making contact. Chances are the motor itself is fine.

Just remember the Prado are 12Volt color coded blue, and the 70series Cruisers are 24Volt.colored Red.
