This has been a long project. Engine out, engine replacement, heads done, steering rack replaced, you name it. Pretty much everything replaced. Didn't like the rock auto copper/brass washers with the reman OE rack so decided to order the correct OE washer and in the process of swapping gummed up the threads of the rack. I very carefully tried the bolt again and eventually got a thread chaser of the same pitch and it all went back easily...too easily.
Now I go to fill the reservoir with engine off and fluid dumps right out. Is there a way to repair the hose/rack connection without pulling and replacing the rack? This has been an amazingly expensive project and I hope I haven't bought myself another rack and way more labor.
