Started work on the conversion to a G/M power steering pump today, removed the old Toyota pump and it's custom bracket that was made when I had the power steering added. Less said about that the better.
Pressed the mounting off the G/M pump for the pulley just leaving the shaft which is slightly bigger than the Toyota one. The G/M is a press fit without a keyway as opposed to the Toyota one. So I will machine the center out of the Toyota pulley to a press fit.
Another small hitch was the new bracket interfered with the Pacemaker extractors manifold plate, so out with the grinder just to shave a little off it. This won't be an issue when the new 2F-ETI goes in but due to a change of plan I need to fit it to the old 2F for a couple of months.
The holes for the genuine bracket were all full of $hit so I scrapped as much of the mud out as possible and washed out with WD 40 before re tapping them for the new bolts. Also fitted 2 new bolts to the water pump where the old bracket mounted.
