First off, I've already made a post about my power steering having issues. But now she's going yet again and I feel as if I'm smashing my head against a wall.
Ive recently replaced my power steering Pump with an OEM Toyota pump, went good for about 2 months and started to make noise again. Its now about 4 months after and I've now gone back to original symptoms before I replaced the pump, power steering is minimal at low rpms. Ive redone the entire steering system aside from two things.
Steering box, and cooler
I dont see the power steering cooler causing it howl like it is and nearly go out.
So that leads me to the box, it's a cheap s*** O'Reilly box. Now that could be my issue with it either having bad internals, or an internal restriction.
Ive bought a OEM box a while back, and rebuilt it. Now I'm to the point of installation, my only fear is now with the power steering struggling as much as it is, I'm afraid that metal is in the system and if I did just a simple swap it would take out my new box and id be back at square one.
Should I replace both the pump, and box and flush all the lines out
Or should I just replace the box, flush the lines and pump and hope that the pump took no damage?
