As I understand it, some 3B engined 60 series Cruisers came with PS. Mine did not. I am looking for all the parts I will need to add/swap in order to change mine over to PS. Not sure if this is something I'm better off trying to source locally and avoid shipping but if necessary I'll get it shipped. If anyone could give me an idea as to how much I can expect to pay for all the parts I need and if possible a breakdown per part that would really help. decorcuera74@hotmail.com Thanks!

there are only a couple of differences between the power steering on an FJ and BJ60. First the pump is mounted on the opposite side of the engine. The pump is the same but the bracket and pully are different. so. you can use the pump from an FJ60... should be able to find one for about $50-$75 used. The steering box is the same as well. Used $100-$150. The lines from the pump to the steering box are different. You'll need to either drop the cash for a new set or try to find a used BJ for these. $50 used...

Power steering prices

Can someone please give me a relatively straight answer as to the cost of a COMPLETE PS setup from a LC. Most bits and pieces seem to add up to under 500 total depending on who's selling them. Which seems reasonable and somewhat normal. Someone offered me a complete setup for 950USD plus shipping? does this seem quite high to everyone else? Either way, why would anyone pay that much? Just to have stock LC stuff? Hell, occasionally you can find a whole cruiser for that much. Well, if that is the case, I'm goin to the wrecker and buying a complete Mini-Truck setup (still Toyota) for a few hundo and no shipping.

$950 for PS for a wagon? is that installed with labor or just parts? If that is a parts quote I would run and ensure that you can still sit down without being in pain. Someone just tried to bend you over.

Now the PS setup for FJ40's and BJ40/42 can be pricey from 1979-1983. Yes those can be worth big money. FJ60's and BJ60's are junked all over North America. Just find someone fair that isn't watching you like prey and you should be fine.

I don't think Mini PS is the best option for a 60. You should be able to build something for a decent price.

That's what I figured.

I knew something was up. I guess I forgot that not everyone is here to learn and help, some are definately here for the money. I guess. Either way, thanks to all those that PM'd me with offers or warnings. I will be contacting you shortly, just trying to find all the pieces as close as possible.
