I got the power steering done on my 74 FJ40 today.I used the mini truck setup. I put the alt. on the passenger side, using a bracket from a newer motor. Everything worked out fine, except now,my alt. gauge is showing discharge. It's not much, but it is on the minus side. Before I switched things,it was way over on the plus side.I used 10 gauge wire to extend the big wire and 14 gauge for the 2 smaller ones. I read where someone used 12 gauge for the big wire. Is the 10 to heavy? Thanks for any help.

you can't have to heavy guage wire are you sure your hooked up right? dould you have the wrong wire hooked to your guage

I think I did it right.I'll recheck everything tomorrow.I marked wires as I went. There are only three.
Thanks for the reply.

Thanks Bill,I'm gonna fool with it today.I can't figure out why this happened. All I did was splice wires and make them longer.
