So I scored a front and rear end off an '85 auto 4runner. I traded the guy strait across for some worn out 35s that came with my $100 '81. Now I can replace the severely hose front housing and have slightly lower gears... but it gets even better! Th entire power steering was still attached to the front axle. No more sprained thumbs!:)

I don't have the bracket or tensioner though. Will the bracket and tensioner pulley left over from my '94 22re fit on the '81 22r?

22R blocks and heads have the same holes regardless of what actually came on the truck from the factory. 22R and RE same stuff.

Only blocks I have seen that were different was the 20R's

Entire power steering on the axle? Can you explain?

What bracket? ps box or ps pump bracket?

The axle was still connected to the draglink, the ps box, the hoses, the reservoir and the pump... I was asking about the ps pump bracket and the tensioner pulley on the front of the head. Sounds like it will work!:beer::beer:

Thanks for the info... sounds like it will work.

Wristy, why don't you come out here with your Yota and wheel our "Fall Crawl 4x4 Trials Competition" on October 4th? If your from where I think your from you can drive! Come out and show these guys how it's done...

It's a benefit and first prize is a set of 37" Pit Bulls. It would almost be worth the gas!
