Wanted Power Steering Box

I am looking for a power steering box for a 84 FJ-60. Mine is leaking pretty badly. I would prefer local because I would rather not pay for shipping. Right now I am in Lookout Mt., GA and in three weeks I will be in Raleigh, NC.

Buy the rebuild kit from Cruiser Dan. It's something like $38.00 plus shipping. Normal toyota cost is some where close to $55.00.

There are a dozen or so "O" rings. It will take you longer to remove it than it will to rebuild it.

I think I'll order a kit and rebuild my old one and maybe sell it after I install a better one. I might even get it ported for hydro-assist and keep it. For right now I just need a "new" one to get me around without losing all my fluid.

I think your talking about the pump and not the box. I need a new box and from what I've read its pretty tricky to rebuild and you need some specialty tools. So I'm just going with a whole different one.

You are correct. I was talking about a pump. I just rebuild mine friday night.

OrangeFJ45 is going to be parting our a 60. PM him so you are first in line for the steering box.

Just checked Orange and he's keeping his. Seems like everyone is keeping the steering from the parting out vehicles.

Check with Andrew.Fletcher here on MUD. He is parting out a 60 but he will not part it out until he gets it running. (?)
