Hey guys I'm back at it again of course now that it's winter in Michigan. Perfect time to need maintenance.

Anyway, I'm doing a tune up trying to get my little 87 2wd truck ready to take a cross country ride to CA from Michigan. Changing the Power Steering and Alternator belts. Managed to get them both changed out and when tightening the idler pulley screw to adjust the tension the adjuster bolt broke. I have sourced a new bolt but I need to get behind that bracket and the idler pulley to get the remaining piece of the bolt out. In order to get that piece of the bracket off I need to take the drive pulley from the power steering pump off first to allow enough clearance for the final bolt of the bracket to be removed. I finally got the nut on the end of the drive pulley loose and removed but how does the actual pulley come off? Is there anything holding it on there besides the nut and 2 washers? Is it just rusted on there and I just need a BFH to get it off? Tried some light pounding and pulling etc, but no luck as of yet. Is there another nut or bolt holding it, a key of some sort?

Any help you guys got is more than appreciated. Sorry for the long explanation but hopefully removes a few questions for lack of my poor explanation otherwise.

the tensioner adjustment bolt broke off behind the bracket. I can't get behind the bracket to get some pliers on the bolt to finish screwing it out so I can put another bolt in there is the problem. You can get 2 of the bolts for the bracket off easily but the third is directly behind the drive pulley so that is why I have to remove that pulley. Sorry my long winded explanation probably didn't lay that out very well.

bumperboy, thanks I will have to try some more PB Blaster and some more elbow grease. What a Pain the A** bolt to find too, hard to find like a 8 x 1.25x 100+, had to call my trusty yota junkyard 5 states away =)

Thanks guys, I'll give it another shot and check back in.
