OK. I found the piezo. I could not see it at first because it was covered with some stuff that looked like weatherstripping foam tape.

I kept the connector, but cut the wires from the connector to the piezo and spliced in a replacement from Radio Shack. I think the part # was 273-060. It was one step higher in dB than the one RavenTai got. This one is about twice as big but has tiny wire leads. Now I think the thing chirps everytime. I installed about a week ago and have not yet definitely noticed it not sounding; however, the chirp is so quiet that I have to be standing right by the DS door to hear it.

I think now I will spring for the OEM. Seems like the new piezo has fixed the problem and I definitely want it louder. Since the fob uses the same button for lock and unlock, the only way to know for sure whether one has locked or unlocked is by hearing one chirp or two chirps.

Does anyone know of a source for the originals other than the stealership?

First time owner and first post here. I have the same issue with the chirp – my question is “where’s the piezo located?” BTW, I have the LX450.

under the hood a bit outboard of the master cylinder, look for red plastic wrapped in grey foam tape zip-tied to a wire bundle.
