The antenna assembly on the right is out iof a 96 LX450. I think it's an 86300-60080, the same as was in my 97 80 series. It has two pigtails, one that is a 2-pole link and the other that is a 4-pole.

The one on the left has only a 2-pole connector. I suspect it may not have the memory feature found in the 96 and 97. What can I expect if installed in the 96 LX450?

A little more background while bumping this for another pass through the front page. I had planned on ordering this via paftsouq.com. It listed this (86000--60080) as the correct part for both the new LX and the 80 I installed an antenna assembly in 15 years ago, which I totaled last fall. Partsouq.com has been listing this as unavailable for the last couple of weeks.

I turned to ebay and found they had several OEM part numbers listed, but not the -60080, so I rolled the dice on this -60040, given ebay's fit guarantee and that it listed the -60040 as fitting the LX 450. I'm not particularly concerned about the memory feature working, which is what I think the second 4-pin plug is about, so long as it doesn't inspire additional wonkiness from the missing connectiion of the 4-pin plug. I just hate to go to the trouble of fishing that cox into ther cabin only to find weird stuff going on so that it needs returned.

Let's start with the good news. I developed a methods that makes mounting the power antenna assembly considerably easier. After stuffing the coax
into the cabin, then you have that ungainly antenna drive dangling inside the fender. It's hard to hold and offbalance. I must be getting old, because rthis party of the job seemed more difficult. At the bottom there is a metal bracket that provides support for it. The way it comes out is that you unbolt it from the outside. Reaching down there to reconnect it can be frustrating. I then realized I could take a somewhat longer bolt and thread it through from the backside. It's an 8mm I think, but just match it uop to the original one you removed and make the new one about a inch and a half long. Now you have a solid way to poke back out through the mounting hole inn the inner fender, then bolt it up. A pic to show it.

The rest of the news was not so happy. When the radio powered up, the antenna extended to full height. However, then the clacking ensued for about ten seconds as the antenna ECU tried to ensure it was fully extended. On power off retraction, same issue. Eventually this will tear up the mast and sounds very un=L:exus like.

The EWD suggests possible solutions, but none were really obvious except running the mast uop partway - it\s too high to get through the garage door with fully extended - then pulling the connection.

Hello i want to know where can i find the white cable/string that is inside the pipe. For my LC 1995. Been searching in the web but cannot find it.

Thank You

I sourced one of those here: 86337-60080 Antenna Rod With Drive Cable For Toyota Lexus Land Cruiser USA | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/225825935746
It fit and worked to the extent possible with the bad drive assembly on my 96 LX 450, but take the truthdetector advice.

One note about this. My original drive assembly problem was that the lower part of this was fused to the inside of the upper part of the sleeve by rust and corrosion, so a new mast would not fit down inside properly for it to load it in the drive.
