Hi Everyone,

Some of you heard from Bill at our January meeting that he will not be seeking re-election as Secretary and Membership Coordinator of the club for 2016. He has some health issues that need to take priority and he won't be able to attend as many meetings this year.

So, the club is seeking a volunteer (or two or three! we should consider splitting this position to save workload!) to step forward at the February meeting to offer to take on this very important role in the club.

Bill offered to provide oversight and training for the new person, so you won't be on your own.

Some of the duties include:

1) Attending most meetings; not all, the other officers of the club can fill in if needed
2) Collecting membership dues and issuing receipts. These are done at club meetings only and most dues are paid at the January meeting.
3) Maintaining the club membership list (MS Excel spreadsheet) for communication e-mails to club members
4) Taking the meeting minutes and posting them to the club forum on MUD
5) Assisting with club functions (Christmas Party, BBQ, Cruiser Days)
6) Preparing the meeting agenda for Steve

I'm sure I've forgotten a lot as Bill does everything so well behind the scenes!

Post up if you're interested in helping the club!

I suspect that we will quickly discover just how much Bill contributed to the smooth operation and organization of this club soon after he abdicates his position? Perhaps we should consider electing Bill an Honourary Life Member in recognition of his outstanding and selfless contribution to the organization and operation of the club? Most other private clubs have such an honour to recognize exceptional contributors- most waive yearly fees and allow the appointees first in line at the barbeque/keg/toilet etc...

Excellent idea, Graham....

Stand back for the overwhelming stampede of eager candidates !

I'd like to personally thank those kind CC members who presented me with the Lifetime Member certificate and $100. Keg gift card at the February 11 meeting.

I asked my wife if she would like to spend Valentine's Day at the Keg with this card. She said she'd rather go on Tuesday and take a grandson. That seemed good to me. Then she decided to take both grandsons and I said OK. Then she decided to take the daughter-in-law as well, and maybe the son.

Anyway, I am now looking for a job so that I can pay for this big family dinner! Is Walmart still hiring greeters?

Thanks guys,

~Bill

And a big thanks to the guys (Jeremy, Pete, Gary, and Brad) who have stepped up to share in Bill's workload. Over the next few weeks and months, Bill will be communicating with them to hand over his long list of tasks.
