Does anyone know of a thread on how to port a saginaw steering box. I'am considering doing power asist.

I recently tried to do this with the go slow with a magnet and avoid rebuilding method 
. After I ruined that box I now have to go back to the pick-n-pull to grab another box to send out to the pros 
. I'm sure it can work for some, but it was way too sketchy once I did it to trust it not to fail at the worst possible time for me. The money I end up spending will be worth my piece of mind. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I would try rebuilding it my self before getting another box. A rebuild kit is like $25 from auto zone and there is step by step pictures in the thread I posted. The only hard/frustrating part is getting the BBs back in, other than that it is pretty easy. I wish I would have taken the time to port mine while I had it torn down and just plugged it until I added hydro-assist.
