Murdochs is a local ranch supply store. They have a Porter Cable a/c on sale for $299.

Good

Price
220V
Vertical 60 gal

Not so good

Single stage
Iron sleeved alum. cylinders

Anyone have an opinion?

Oil bath or oilless? If you will use it often, an oil bath will last longer. For homeowner type use, oilless will be just fine.
 
Thanks for the reply. It is oiless so maybe that's another concern. The single stage bothered me as I understood the two-stagers to be much quieter. Also, I'm not sure of the longevity of the sleeved cylinders.
 
This reply is not specific to the exact model your looking at, but we had a Porter cable 20 Gal, oilless, single stage, hooked up to a dry fire sprinkler system up in Virigina City that leaks like a son of a bitch, so it runs CONSTANTLY!!! Its was in there for 7+ years and the only problem weve had with it, was the auto shut off swtich went out!
When that happened, we replaced it with a different brand, and I now have the porter cable in my garage and have been using it for almost a year now!
Im pretty impressed with it! For 299 bucks, I dont think youll go wrong.
