I am looking for a affordable, portable tent that will cover one half of a suv including the engine comparment of a car that will keep my dry during turential down poors! The tent roof will extend at least 2-3 feet to the sides of the average car/suv and can be erected by my self "one man" in fifteen minites. I guess what I am saying is, the tent is as long as the car/sub but no more and is open at both ends. If it has sides, so much the better then I wont get drenched from blown rain from the sides.

Does such a canopy/tent exist? Can it be transported in a 60 series?

Thanks :)

no.

yes.

gonna hafta build it yerself.

why cover the engine? open front n rear? I could prolly set up awnings to cover same area, might be able to geter done in 15m.

more data please.

the reason is

I do alot of car repairs outside and the weather is getting nasty. Want to stay dry at least when working under the vehicle or in the engine compartment. It would be portable so its taken from site to site.

I should have mentioned if it would be a awning instead of a tent.

The fox wing idea would be ideal. I just wonder though, how far to the side if can go. Can I park along side a car and pop up the fox wing. Its a cool idea though. See how much it cost.

WOW, thay want 749 dollars for that thing! It would probebly be just as cheap to make my own. I see how the concept works. Only downside, is how well does it work in the wind!

Would need a sewing machine to!
