Anyone ever try Orange wood for pork? You would be surprised, I think, how good it is. May be able to go to the local groves and pick up the dead tree wood for free from the grower. I don't find it as good as Alder/Cedar for fish, though.
 
If any of you have dead/dying Mulberry trees--try that-even green it gives delicate cinnamon/sweet flavor to pork/chicken--burns quickly though, so you may want to soak it ahead of time if it's not fresh cut.
Good for ribs that don't need the long(12 hr) smoke time
 
There is a place---Called Pendery's--they are in Ft. Worth,Tx. been making/selling chile powders(Chiltomaline) since I can't remember-(maybe 1846 or something)-Check them out -quality stuff-been buying from them for 20+ yrs----btw-they support Terlingua

They do make some good stuff. Just south of us here, there are only a few grocers that stock it.
Anything from paste to picante (hot picante is the only way my daughter will travel for homemade tacos);
