That's a great idea! All it needs is an lead organizer. I'd be happy to assist. :D

They are a lot of fun, I use to go on the Italian car poker run back 12 or so years ago to Whistler. I stopped after convoying back with a group of Ferraris and getting a $400 ticket :doh:

Its kind of like a on road version of the GPS challenge.

For River Shiver, they had a poker run that required you to find your cards via GPS co-ordinates. A couple of boxes only had redirect co-ordinates, kept you busy.

Mat's our guy, no? Or perhaps some other single guy with a low maintenance girl friend. :D

I think for "us", what Phil described they did at River Shiver would work best. But I was also thinking from having another positive PR opportunity for the 4x4 community and have it as a charitable fundraiser for one or more worthy charities. I see this as something that would take a year or two to plan as it is a bit more complex than just a pavement based event.

I cant see anything like that taking a year or two to plan at all. All they really take is 20 or so locations for poker cards for various groups (so they are not all hitting the same places) and the GPS coordinates. I guess it depends on how big you want it. It would be kind of cool to make one a weekend thing covering a larger area, something like a 2 day rally covering lots of ground and locations. Have a area setup as the overnight camp area for all competitors (would not be speed based competition) just getting all the cards needed and see who gets the best hand.

Would be a good couple months of planing but fun none the less, would be really cool to have "tasks" along the way "winch hill" "picture with XYZ in the back ground from GPS contaminates XXXXX"

You're hired Jeremy! :bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Whew! Usually it is the responsibility of the poor bloke who suggested the idea. :rolleyes: But I think your post clearly trumps that. So, are you planning a fall Poker Run? :beer:

Unfortunantly that's not going to happen, I got way to much going on this year to plan anything. Nice try though!

Why doesn't the thread starter get something planed? :confused:
