Well ... my seat-of-the-pants dyno tells me that this plug-in gained me at least 30 additional horsepower:

It's the Official TRD Push Start Switch and is a direct plug-in replacement for the OEM switch.

Install is

Here is the Japanese TRD site which shows the part particulars (it is swith #1):

http://www.trdparts.jp/english/parts_push_start-sw.html

Unfortunately, if anyone wants one, they will have to find a friend in Japan willing to purchase one and send it to you - I can't help with that :o

The jury is still out on whether it also improves mileage, but I'll keep you posted :D

from the looks of that button I'm guessing more like 50hp:)

You could be right ... it's been a while since I calibrated my butt :rimshot

Laughed my @$$ off, thanx guys!

I know its been awhile since this post but Im digging the TRD push start, how hard to install? I found the part.

thanks,

In my LX, 10 minutes. Would have been 5 if I hadn't taken apart something that I shouldn't have.

Sweet! Just curious, what did you take off that you shouldn't have? : ) thanks!
The dash panel it's in pulls off really easily. Then the button is just held onto a bracket with a couple plastic clips you'll see if you buy one. I unscrewed the bracket off the dash panel - didn't need to do that.

@gaijin is probably right about the HP bump, based upon how it sounds when you start it with the new button.
