No, this will not fit the stock opening on an 1980 FJ40. The bracket behind is the standard single DIN size. Not sure any radio with a CD player is going to fit any 9/72-9/82 radio opening on a FJ40.

If you install a tuffy console the radio will fit in there. Otherwise you can get a retro radio and that will fit the original radio slot

Nice. I have a TUFFY with the radio box but that leaves me with a hole and I'm not fond of the delete plate. That looks good. Thanks
