Has anyone had success removing the pinstriping? On an 80 series the striping is stuck on so you can peel it away; this striping seems to be painted on!

Thanks

Yes. 3M stripe off wheel. Find it on Amazon.

Works nice on the tape type of pinstripe. Don't know about the painted on type. Mount it on a cordless drill and use a steady hand.

Don't hold it in one spot too long. That friction builds up a lot of heat. Also, don't run it up on the rubber window trim. Don't ask me how I know!

I used an eraser wheel as well, it was very easy. Unfortunately my 100 has spent its entire life in Texas and there are spots where the stripe used to be that are much darker than the rest of the paint. I had to have a new pinstripe put on.

I'd be curious to read whether the eraser wheel would remove painted pinstripes without damaging the paint underneath. Unless it's really poor paint, that seems rather iffy and potentially damaging to me.
Yes they work great for tape though.

Check out YouTube for a couple of ideas. One video suggests lacquer thinner and another suggests acetone and yet another suggests oven cleaner. If you have some, I'd test it out in a very small spot to see if it removes the stripe without damaging the clear before you go crazy.

I always thought the pinstripes made the vehicle look sporty. But that's just me.......
